How ReflectionGuide works and how your responses are used
Last updated: 25 April 2026
ReflectionGuide is a guided reflection tool. This page explains in plain English how the tool processes your responses, what you remain responsible for, and how we approach safety.
What the tool does
ReflectionGuide guides you through recognised reflective models — Gibbs, Driscoll, Kolb, and ERA — using a sequence of structured prompts. It builds a draft from your responses so that you can review, refine, and finalise a reflection in your own voice.
What you remain responsible for
You remain the author of your reflection. Drafts produced by the tool are working drafts based on the words you provide. You are responsible for reviewing and editing the draft before using it in any educational, professional, supervisory, regulatory, or portfolio setting.
Information you should not enter
Please avoid entering anything that identifies a patient, service user, colleague, supervisor, or organisation. Use general language such as "a patient", "a colleague", or "a ward" instead of names or specific details.
Automated checks for sensitive content
The Service may use automated checks to flag content that appears to contain potentially identifying information, so that you can edit it before saving or exporting. These checks are intended as a safety aid and do not replace your responsibility to review your content.
Use in education, placement, and practice
ReflectionGuide is designed to support reflective drafting and structuring. It is not clinical advice, legal advice, or educational assessment. Acceptance of any output by your educator, placement provider, supervisor, employer, or regulator is a matter for them.
